(‘The Corsair’). Overture, op. 21, by Berlioz , based on Byron's poem; it was composed in 1844 and revised some time before 1852 . It was first performed with the title La Tour de Nice, then as Le Corsaire rouge (the French title for Fenimore Cooper's The Red Rover).
